The Future of Electronic Purchasing at Colorado State University.

Marketplace Goals

The CSU Marketplace is Colorado State University's new e-Procurement Solution that provides the CSU community with an easy to use self-service buying approach. The goal is to improve the quality of purchasing services to CSU and streamline the Procure to Pay process. SciQuest will also improve operating efficiency within CSU departments, Purchasing and Accounts Payable. Colorado State University will utilize existing and other negotiated contract pricing, enabling online catalog ordering.

Marketplace Requisitions

The CSU Marketplace will be the official tool for processing all requisitions. It is integrated with our current FRS system, which is CSU's record for financial transactions. Following the completion of a purchase order within the SciQuest system, an encumbrance is created nightly in FRS to provide the business officers at CSU with accurate and timely financial data.

Requisitioning through one tool streamlines the buying process and allows for electronic routing for approvals. The CSU Marketplace allows for detailed order history and better reporting to the administration and the college and department level. Electronic routing (workflow) will allow more efficient and quicker approvals and may reduce paperwork at the department level.
